Furniture Painting classes with all-natural clay/chalk/mineral paint by American Paint Company.  Learn techniques for beautifully painted furniture in small group sessions to fit your schedule. Or, book your own private class. Wear painting clothes and expect to have fun! Pre-payment registration required. [WARNING: This paint can be addictive]

Paint Made Easy

 BYOF! Bring your own furniture… An excellent hands-on introduction to American Paint Company’s all-natural products. Bring a small end table, stool, or plant stand that YOU can carry, and turn tired, brown furniture into something lovely! You’ll learn all the basics and get to apply immediately! We’ll cover single-color painting, distressing, & top-coat finish.  10% off paint purchases in-class.THERE IS NO PRIOR CLASS NEEDED to sign up for this session.$125 includes use of paints, brushes, and topcoat to accomplish your project on site.  Snacks and aprons provided.Saturday, March 1, 1:00-4:30

Painted Frame

Bring your own wood picture frame (or choose one from my stash) for this mini-version of Paint Made Easy. 16 x 20 frame or smaller, preferably textured and in solid shape. You’ll learn single-color painting, distressing , and top-coat finish. Gather some friends and enjoy learning a new art together! The techniques you learn here can be used as you tackle larger projects with American Paint Company paints & finishes.

$45 includes use of supplies to accomplish your beautifully painted picture frame. Hang in your home or give as a gift!

Custom Color

Create endless shades of gorgeous colors with APC clay/chalk/mineral paint, mix-ins, and finishes! Learn color theory and the keys to color balance in home decor. If you’re looking to color-match something specific, bring the curtain or pillow and we’ll experiment to find your personalized paint blend. You’ll learn all-natural paint basics and more, making sample boards and a color recipe booklet to take home. Class covers mica shimmer, dark wax, and glazes too! $75 for 2 hours. Ultimate APC

Learn all the techniques we use and the secrets to getting great furniture painting results! Replicate high-end furniture and home decor finishes to turn drab items into fantastic! This workshop is a hands-on immersion into American Paint Co. all-natural products to create antique, French, and shabby-chic looks. You’ll complete several sample boards and learn basic to advanced faux finishing & terminology. No previous experience necessary. In our 4 hours, we’ll cover smooth paint application, dry brush, mica shimmer, two-color vintage, wet/dry distress, American Grit, image transfer, crackle, stencil, decoupage, topcoat, glaze finish, wax application, leafing, milk paint demo. Technique workbook with recipe sheets included. Sign up with a friend and spend the day being creative! $150 includes catered lunch and all supplies. Contact me to schedule this comprehensive class.

Open Studio Time

If you enjoyed working in my studio during a class and wish to continue, I have open studio hours on Tuesdays! You can bring in a piece of furniture (small enough to easily carry),
picture frame, or other small project and use my brushes and space. I’ll be available to answer questions and give advice as you progress. You purchase the paint & finishes needed for your item.alumni only. $15 per hour, please pre-schedule.
